Borgogno Barolo Riserva 2008 3L Double Magnum

Borgogno Barolo Riserva 2008 is a classic, deeply traditional expression of Nebbiolo from one of Piedmont’s most historic producers. Crafted using grapes harvested from five of the Barolo zone’s most renowned vineyards—Cannubi, Cannubi San Lorenzo, Fossati, Liste, and San Pietro delle Violate—this extended-aged red wine highlights extraordinary depth, tertiary complexity, and longevity. On the nose, it displays mature aromas of dried sour cherry, crushed red plum, leather, licorice, dried rose petals, forest floor, and subtle tar with sweet spice undertones. The palate is medium-to-full-bodied, featuring firm yet well-integrated tannins, bright natural acidity, and a long, savory finish marked by earthy minerality and dried fruit character.

Food Pairing: Pairs superbly with slow-braised beef, osso buco, truffle-infused tagliatelle, roasted wild game, or aged Parmigiano-Reggiano and Castelmagno cheeses.

This is developing nicely, with woodsy, leafy flavors accented by fading cherry, mineral and tea hints. Firm yet racy, presenting a long, refreshing finish that lifts this up and leaves you wanting more. Best from 2017 through 2030.
