About the Boekenhoutskloof Semillon 2021
Boekenhoutskloof Semillon 2021 is a highly acclaimed, old-vine white wine that showcases the heritage and aging potential of South African Semillon. Sourced from historic vineyards in the Franschhoek Valley—some planted as early as 1902—the wine is crafted with a small addition of Muscat d'Alexandrie for added acidity and structural lift. It features a complex bouquet of melon, acacia flower, and kumquat, leading to a textured, medium-bodied palate of poached pear and fresh lemon. The 2021 vintage is noted for its precision and mineral-driven character, having benefited from a cooler growing season that allowed for slow, even ripening.

Always an excellent semillon, textured and compact. Complex aromas of apricots, beeswax, Asian pears and hints of white chocolate. Some almonds. Medium- to full-bodied with a long, creamy finish. From old vines planted in 1902, 1942 and 1936. Drink or hold.
