Boeckel Grand Cru Zotzenberg Sylvaner 2016 is a dry white wine produced from 100% Sylvaner grown in the renowned Grand Cru Zotzenberg vineyard in Mittelbergheim, Alsace. Vinified in traditional large oak casks, it offers aromas of citrus, ripe orchard fruit, and delicate floral notes with a rich yet vibrant palate, distinctive minerality, and impressive ageing potential.

The fresh and lemony nose creates notions of haystacks and beautifully dried hay flowers. There is something ripe and rounded here, and the warm vintage turns the usual herbal tinges of Sylvaner on their heads. The palate is concentrated and remains sinuous, even if aromatically this is richer than usual. This is a lovely, unusual and wonderfully gastronomic wine, with a lovely textural element on the midpalate. The finish is dry and fresh. — Anne Krebiehl MW
