It is crafted from estate-grown fruit on the Black Sage Bench, a region known for its unique desert-like microclimate and sandy soils that favor late-ripening varieties. The wine is characterized by its "archetypal savoury/herbal character," featuring a complex profile of black cherry, plum, and raspberry layered with notes of mocha, sage, and sweet mint. Typically aged for 18 months in French oak, it is built for longevity and is capable of cellaring for 20+ years.
