Bibi Graetz Colore Rosso 2018 is an exceptional, rare, and monumental Super Tuscan red wine created by artist-turned-winemaker Bibi Graetz. Sourced primarily from ancient, low-yielding vines—some between 80 to 135 years old—in the high-altitude zone of Lamole in Chianti Classico, along with parcels in Vincigliata and Siena, this cuvée represents the absolute pinnacle of Bibi Graetz's winemaking vision. Predominantly composed of Sangiovese with a tiny dash of Colorino and Canaiolo (described by Bibi as "just like a touch of lipstick"), the grapes are harvested in multiple passes and fermented naturally using native yeasts in open-top barrels. The wine is aged for nearly 30 months in oak before release. In the glass, it reveals an alluring, complex bouquet of dark cherries, wild raspberries, crushed red plums, rose petals, citrus peel, and mint, underpinned by dark chocolate, earth, and subtle balsamic undertones. On the palate, it is full-bodied, structured, and profoundly elegant, featuring silky, fine-grained tannins, vibrant natural acidity, and a long, persistent, salty-mineral finish.

Made from very old vines with a blend of 90% Sangiovese, 5% Colorino and 5% Canaiolo, this lovely red has delicate, enticing aromas of plum, vanilla, crushed mint and fragrant blue flowers. Elegantly structured with a good depth of flavor, the savory, focused palate features Marasca cherry, orange rind, mocha and licorice. It's well-balanced, with taut, polished tannins and fresh acidity. Drink 2023–2033.
