Benromach Contrasts Virgin Oak 10 Year Old 2013 Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a distinctive limited release exploring the influence of new American oak on Benromach’s traditional Speyside character. Distilled in 2013 and matured for 10 years in virgin American oak casks that had never previously held another spirit, it was bottled in 2024 at 46% ABV. The oak was air-dried, crafted into 250-litre hogsheads and gently charred before being filled with Benromach’s subtly smoky spirit. 

Food Pairing: Pair with glazed pork, grilled chicken, aged cheddar, roasted nuts, orange cake or caramel-based desserts.

Tasting Notes: Rich and fruit-forward with tropical fruit, citrus, creamy sweetness and mature oak complemented by Benromach’s characteristic gentle smoke.

Nose: Fragrant dried banana with freshly squeezed lemon and soft vanilla fudge.

Palate: Bright Seville orange zest with rich butterscotch and smooth smoke.

Finish: Long-lasting citrus with lingering mature oak.
