About the Benriach Batch 16 1994 Cask 7379 24 Year Old 700ml
The cask that shows off Benriach's naturally fruity distillate - naked, so to speak, without any fancy woods intruding. Deep amber gold. Pillowy soft, though slightly understated aromas include ripe apples, pears and peaches, gaining a waxy quality after brief air time. Intense but super-pure, the fruity malt is really creamy in this one. There's a thrust of spice to finish, and the oak keeps it slightly drier and shorter than expected, but the fruit and vanillas rebound late. Hugely enjoyable. 54.5% Alc.Vol. Non chill filtered. 216 bottles.
