About the Benjamin Chapman 7 Year Old Rye Whisky
Benjamin Chapman 7 Year Old Rye Whisky is a small-batch Canadian whisky built from two separately matured components: 51% 10-year-old Canadian rye whisky and 49% 7-year-old Canadian Prairie wheat whisky. The rye component is pot distilled using glacial water from the northern Rockies and matured in white oak casks, while the wheat whisky is triple-column distilled and matured in American oak whiskey barrels. Bottled at 45% ABV, the resulting blend combines lively rye spice with the softer, silky sweetness of mature wheat whisky.
Food Pairing: Maple-glazed pork, smoked brisket, roasted chicken, aged cheddar, toasted pecans, apple crumble, creme brulee, and dark chocolate.
Tasting Notes: Brilliant amber with an inviting balance of warming spice, vanilla, caramelized fruit, chocolate, maple sweetness, and toasted oak.
Nose: Cinnamon and vanilla spice with caramel apple, dark chocolate, and maple syrup.
Palate: Smooth and silky with rye spice, white chocolate, creme brulee, and soft wheat sweetness.
Finish: Warming and smooth with an expressive burst of spice and lingering toasted oak.
