In a significant departure from Basil Hayden's traditional high-rye recipe, this unique bourbon replaces the rye grain entirely with brown rice, adding a subtle touch of sweetness and a much softer profile. After its initial maturation in new charred oak, the bourbon undergoes a secondary aging period in custom-toasted—not charred—oak barrels. This secondary finish draws out rich, caramelized wood sugars, resulting in a remarkably smooth, mellow whiskey bursting with notes of toasted oak, sweet vanilla, and rich caramel, all bottled at the brand's signature easy-drinking 80 proof.
