About the Bruno Giacosa Barolo Vigna Le Rocche Falletto 2019
Bruno Giacosa Barolo Vigna Le Rocche Falletto 2019 is an extraordinary, benchmark red wine produced by Azienda Agricola Falletto di Bruno Giacosa from the prized Vigna Le Rocche parcel within the estate’s renowned Falletto vineyard in Serralunga d'Alba. Crafted from 47-year-old Nebbiolo vines, it undergoes 25 days of fermentation and maceration in stainless steel vats followed by 32 months of aging in French oak casks and 10 months in bottle. In the glass, it shows a deep garnet red color with glints of orange. The ethereal nose opens with complex notes of rose petals, blackcurrant, pomegranate, ripe raspberries, orange peel, and underlying tobacco and spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied, precise, and generous, offering tremendous fresh concentration framed by a powerful, finely sculpted tannic structure and a long, echoing mineral-driven finish.
Food Pairing: Pairs exceptionally well with roast rack of lamb, braised beef short ribs, truffle risotto, wild game dishes, and aged Parmigiano-Reggiano.
98 Points - James Suckling
Gorgeous aromas of roses that fill the glass along with ripe strawberries, raspberries and forest fruits. Very structured and right with finely toned tannins that are tight, sleek and racy. One for the cellar.
96 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
With the white label, the 2019 Barolo Falletto Vigna Le Rocche is a generous and expansive wine that hits the palate from all sides. It offers lingering sensations of sweet fruit with a good amount of intensity and muscle power pushing from behind. That forward momentum is fueled by dark fruit, rusty earth, wet clay and blood orange. It shows elegance, substance and finely tuned tones with considerable tension and tightness. This is another bottle to rest at the back of your cellar.
95 Points - Wine Spectator
This round, rich red is laced with cherry, raspberry, iron, earth and underbrush aromas and flavors. There's a firm structure, with burly yet well-integrated tannins providing support and the ability to age. Overall, this is balanced and long, with a persistent aftertaste of fruit, mineral and savory notes. Best from 2027 through 2048.
