About the Mario Giribaldi Barolo 2014
Mario Giribaldi Barolo 2014 is a classic Nebbiolo with elegant aromas of rose petals, red cherry and raspberry layered with notes of spice, tobacco and earthy complexity. The palate is structured and refined, offering vibrant acidity, firm tannins and flavors of red fruit, licorice and subtle mineral nuances. Its silky texture is balanced by depth and concentration, leading to a long, persistent finish that reflects the traditional character of Barolo.
Food Pairing: Braised beef, lamb shanks, truffle pasta, wild game and aged hard cheeses.
87 Points - Wine Enthusiast
Dark berry, vanilla and toasted oak sensations lead the nose. The linear palate delivers black plum, mocha and clove alongside grainy tannins that lead to a mouth-puckering finish. Drink after 2022.
86 Points - James Suckling
With aeration, there are some plums, as well as some caramel and odd herbal notes on the nose. The rather hard tannins and a hint of menthol come through on the palate. Maybe better in 2019 or 2020.
