About the Bard Muhlenberg Kentucky Bourbon
A fantastic, hand-crafted spirit from The Bard Distillery, located in the historic coal-mining town of Graham, Kentucky. Distilled, aged, and bottled right on a hill overlooking the town, this expression is a heartfelt tribute to the hard-working miners of Muhlenberg County. Crafted using a wheated mash bill (corn, wheat, and malted barley) and bottled at a robust 105 proof (52.5% ABV), it delivers an incredibly full-flavored, sweet, and surprisingly smooth sipping experience that completely belies its high proof.
NOSE
Rich and inviting with prominent aromas of warm caramel, vanilla bean, toasted oak, dried fruits, and a subtle hint of baking spice.
PALATE
Smooth, velvety, and full-bodied. Sweet flavors of butterscotch, toffee, and dark chocolate are beautifully balanced by notes of ripe cherry, cinnamon, and soft wheat.
FINISH
Long, warm, and highly satisfying with a lingering, well-balanced blend of sweet caramel and gentle oak.
