Banfi Aska Rosso 2022

Banfi Aska Rosso 2022 is an incredibly focused, linear, and elegantly structured red wine produced by the renowned Castello Banfi estate from their dedicated vineyards in the prestigious coastal region of Bolgheri. A classic Tuscan expression crafted primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon blended with Cabernet Franc, it benefits from temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel and matures for approximately 10 months in French oak barriques. In the glass, it displays an intense, deep ruby core. The highly aromatic nose opens with a concentrated burst of ripe blackberries, mulberries, and dark blueberries, seamlessly layered with complex undercurrents of dried violets, sweet tobacco leaf, damp earth, and rich cocoa dust. On the palate, the wine is medium-to-full-bodied and beautifully vibrant, showing a compact texture seamlessly driven by a lively line of natural acidity and firm, finely integrated, lightly grainy tannins. Forward flavors of tart wild berries and black currant fill the mid-palate, leading into a long, persistent, and clean finish accented by lingering notes of dark chocolate and savory spice.
