Auchentoshan Three Wood is a rich and complex Lowland single malt that showcases the profound influence of diverse cask maturation. True to the distillery's tradition, it is triple-distilled for a smooth, delicate spirit, which is then matured in three distinct cask types: American ex-Bourbon barrels, followed by Spanish Oloroso sherry casks, and finally, Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. This tripartite aging process imparts a deep bronze color and a vibrant nose of dark fruits, roasted hazelnuts, and brown sugar. The palate is thick and syrupy, offering indulgent layers of butterscotch, dark chocolate, ripe plums, and a touch of cinnamon spice.
