About the Arnot-Roberts Sanford & Benedict Vineyard Chardonnay 2020 750ml
The 'Sanford and Benedict' vineyard in California's Sta Rita Hills AVA winemaking region is home to some of the state's oldest and most prestigious Chardonnay vines.
This wine comes from vines planted in 1971, cultivated organically with a gentle touch. There's a minerality that comes through in the wine, tapping into the limestone and quartz soil beneath the hills.
An exceptional wine with balanced winemaking and gentle use of oak. California's answer to Grand Cru Burgundy.
95 Points - Vinous
"The 2020 Chardonnay Sanford & Benedict captures all the magic of this iconic Sta. Rita Hills site. Ample, creamy and inviting, the 2020 is beautifully textured from start to finish. Apricot, lemon confit, white flowers, mint and marzipan build as the 2020 opens with a bit of air. Arnot-Roberts pulls fruit from the old-vine section of S&B, which was planted in 1971 with own-rooted vines." - Antonio Galloni (Vinous)
