Domaine Paul Pillot Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru Clos Saint-Jean Rouge 2022

Crafted in the famed Côte de Beaune region of Burgundy, France, Domaine Paul Pillot Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru 'Clos Saint-Jean' Rouge 2022 is an exceptional, highly sought-after red Pinot Noir produced by master vigneron Thierry Pillot. While Chassagne-Montrachet is famous today for its white wines, the historic Clos Saint-Jean Premier Cru vineyard was originally renowned for producing some of the most elegant, silky red wines in the Côte de Beaune. Situated high on the slope above the village, the vineyard features thin, rocky, limestone-rich soils mixed with reddish clay, providing optimal drainage and vibrant aromatic elegance. Thierry Pillot applies his signature precise, low-intervention approach to this rare red parcel. In the solar yet beautifully balanced 2022 vintage, hand-harvested grapes were vinified with native yeasts and gentle extraction. The wine matured in fine French oak barrels (with low new oak influence) to retain its lively mineral tension, floral aromatics, and bright berry purity before being bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Food Pairing: Pan-seared duck breast with cherry reduction, roast chicken with herbs de Provence, grilled pork tenderloin, wild mushroom risotto, coq au vin, and artisanal French cheeses like Comté or Delice de Bourgogne.
