Domaine Denis Mortet Gevrey-Chambertin Mes Cinq Terroirs 2022

Crafted in the famed Côte de Nuits region of Burgundy, France, Domaine Denis Mortet Gevrey-Chambertin 'Mes Cinq Terroirs' 2022 is an extraordinary, benchmark village-level red Pinot Noir produced by Arnaud Mortet. Created to celebrate the unique diversity of the Gevrey-Chambertin appellation, this cuvée harmoniously blends old Pinot Noir vines sourced from five distinct, highly prized village plots: En Motrot, Au Vellé, Combe du Dessus, En Derée, and En Champs. Ranging from the stony slopes near Premier Cru sites to clay-rich alluvial soils, these five terroirs come together under Arnaud Mortet's precise stewardship to create a wine of supreme complexity, balancing dark-fruited intensity with silky elegance and vibrant mineral tension. Hand-harvested and strictly sorted, the 2022 fruit underwent gentle vinification using native yeasts with a small inclusion of whole clusters. The wine matured in fine French oak barrels (approximately 30% new) before being bottled unfined and unfiltered, routinely outperforming many Premier Crus in sheer depth and cellaring prowess.

Food Pairing: Roast duck breast with cherry reduction, pan-seared rack of lamb, beef tenderloin, roasted pheasant, wild mushroom risotto, coq au vin, and artisanal French cheeses such as Époisses, Comté, or Delice de Bourgogne.
