Domaine Denis Mortet Gevrey-Chambertin Les Champeaux Premier Cru 2022

Crafted in the famed Côte de Nuits region of Burgundy, France, Domaine Denis Mortet Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru 'Les Champeaux' 2022 is an extraordinary, highly sought-after red Pinot Noir produced by Arnaud Mortet. Perched at the northern boundary of Gevrey-Chambertin on steep, stone-strewn terraces, the Les Champeaux Premier Cru vineyard features shallow, iron-rich limestone soils that yield wines of striking aromatic perfume, chiseled precision, and vibrant mineral tension. Meticulously cultivated from old vines using organic and biodynamic principles, Arnaud Mortet honors his late father Denis's vision by balancing traditional power with modern finesse and silky textural elegance. In the outstanding 2022 vintage, hand-harvested grapes underwent rigorous sorting before vinification with partial whole clusters using ambient yeasts. The wine matured in fine French oak barrels (approximately 40% to 50% new) before being bottled unfined and unfiltered, preserving its pure terroir expression and legendary cellaring capacity.

Food Pairing: Serve on its own as an extraordinary collector's tasting experience, or pair with roast duck breast with cherry reduction, pan-seared rack of lamb, roasted venison tenderloin, wild boar ragù, wild mushroom risotto, and artisanal French cheeses like Époisses or aged Comté.
