Domaine Denis Mortet Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru Lavaux Saint-Jacques 2022

Crafted in the famed Côte de Nuits region of Burgundy, France, Domaine Denis Mortet Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru 'Lavaux Saint-Jacques' 2022 is an extraordinary, highly coveted red Pinot Noir produced by Arnaud Mortet. Widely recognized as one of the ultimate Premier Cru sites in Gevrey-Chambertin, Lavaux Saint-Jacques sits at the mouth of the cool Combe de Lavaux valley, where cold mountain breezes moderate the warm sun exposure. This distinct microclimate, combined with steep clay-limestone soils rich in active chalk and gravel, creates a wine of sublime balance, razor-sharp precision, and intense mineral drive. Continuing the meticulous standards of his father Denis, Arnaud Mortet farms these mature vines organically, employing low yields and gentle extraction. In the outstanding 2022 vintage, hand-sorted fruit was vinified with partial whole clusters using native yeasts. The wine aged in fine French oak barrels (approximately 40% to 50% new) before being bottled unfined and unfiltered, showcasing Grand Cru-level power and aristocratic longevity.

Food Pairing: Serve on its own as an extraordinary fine wine tasting experience, or pair with roast duck breast with cherry reduction, pan-seared rack of lamb, roasted venison tenderloin, wild boar ragù, wild mushroom risotto, and artisanal French cheeses like Époisses or aged Comté.
