About the Bas Armagnac Castarede 1986
Bas Armagnac Castarede 1986 is a vintage Armagnac produced by Maison Castarède, the oldest registered Armagnac trading house in France. Distilled in 1986 from grapes grown in the Bas-Armagnac region, this spirit was aged for decades in local oak barrels, resulting in exceptional depth, elegant structure, and rich fruit complexity.
Food Pairing: Duck breast with fig sauce, roasted pheasant, dark chocolate desserts, aged cheeses, or tarte Tatin.
Tasting Notes : Deep amber-copper with mahogany highlights, featuring a rich, velvety, and full-bodied mouthfeel.
Nose : Expressive aromas of dried figs, prunes, orange peel, toasted oak, cocoa, and subtle rancio notes.
Palate : Complex and smooth with flavors of candied fruit, dark plum, tobacco leaf, nutmeg, and warm oak spice.
Finish : Long, refined, and lingering with notes of dried fruit, delicate wood tannins, and soft spice.
Serve : Serve neat at room temperature in a tulip-shaped tasting glass or snifter, allowing it to warm gently in the hand.
