Ardnamurchan Paul Launois Release is a highly sought-after, limited-edition single malt Scotch whisky produced by the exciting young Highland distillery. For this unique expression, Ardnamurchan’s unpeated spirit is initially matured in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels before undergoing a delicate finishing period in rare French Oak barriques sourced from the boutique Champagne house of Domaine Paul Launois in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. The result is a wonderfully rich, textured, and fruit-forward dram that beautifully balances the distillery's coastal, waxy character with the bright acidity and elegant sweetness imparted by the ex-Champagne casks.

Food Pairing: This bright, fruit-forward and complex malt pairs excellently with delicate seafood like fresh oysters or seared scallops. It also beautifully complements rich pastries, strawberry tarts, lemon meringue, or creamy soft cheeses like Brie.

TASTING NOTES - A bright, natural golden liquid that is non-chill filtered and boasts a thick, glossy, and viscous mouthfeel.

NOSE: Tangy orange icing, rum and raisin ice-cream and salted caramel. Lemon curd, orange blossom, pencil shavings, wine gums and Sauternes. Gentle waft of lemon thyme and powdered lemonade

PALATE: Rich, dry wood character up front with macadamia nut, citric acidity from nose still coming through. Nutmeg, peach, crème de cacao, sharp vanilla and light Szechuan peppercorn tickling the palate

FINISH: Dry up front, shifting to moderately lush fruity mid-palate with zippy acidity on the finish.

SERVE - Best enjoyed neat in a Glencairn glass. Given its cask strength, adding a few drops of water can help open up the aromas and reveal deeper layers of sweet fudge and biscuit notes.
