Ardbeg Eureka! Committee Release Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Ardbeg Eureka! is a limited-edition Islay single malt Scotch whisky created to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Ardbeg Committee. Inspired by feedback gathered from Committee members during the distillery's Operation Smokescreen experiment, Eureka! combines whisky matured in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks with roasted-malt spirit matured in bourbon casks. Bottled at 52.2% ABV, it brings together Ardbeg's signature peat smoke with rich dark fruit, roasted malt, chocolate and maritime character. 

Food Pairing: Pair with smoked brisket, barbecue pork, grilled lamb, aged cheddar, roasted nuts or dark chocolate desserts.

Tasting Notes: Rich, smoky and complex with juicy red fruit, roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, nutty toffee and maritime salinity.

Nose: Juicy red apple and cherry mingle with caramel-infused coffee, cocoa, restrained peat smoke, sweet tobacco, cedar and fennel.

Palate: Nut toffee brittle and raisin fudge lead into figs, damson and cherries, balanced by salty seaweed, dark chocolate, chicory and cinnamon spice.

Finish: Long and chewy with treacle toffee, aniseed, coal-tar smoke and lingering burning embers.
