About the Chateau Beychevelle Amiral de Beychevelle 2015
Amiral de Beychevelle is the second wine of Chateau Beychevelle, offering a more immediate expression of its Saint-Julien character. Floral and spicy aromas accompany vibrant fruit, freshness and natural balance. The palate combines structured yet silky tannins with elegance and enough depth to support graceful bottle ageing.
Food Pairing: Pairs best with roast lamb, grilled beef, duck breast, mushroom dishes, or aged hard cheeses.
92 Points - Wine Enthusiast
The second wine from the Saint-Julien estate, this is every bit as elegant as the grand vin, its black currant fruit developing to envelop the fine tannins. There is fine fruit, plenty of acidity and a rich texture. It needs time, so drink from 2020. - Roger Voss
92 Points - James Suckling
There's a wealth of cedar and attractive earthy aromas with blackberry and mulberry fruits laced in oak spices. The palate has a sleek, polished and crisp feel with a core of warm oak spices and deep-set dark plums all nicely resolved. Second wine of Chateau Beychevelle. Try from 2021.
