Altamira De Los Andes Navigato Family Selection Grand Reserve 2010

Black garnet color. Bright, inviting, complex aromas of melted chocolate, olive tapenade, fruit pastry, and toasted herbs with a satiny, crisp, dry-yet-fruity medium body and a warming, involved, long vanilla custard, delicate spices, minerals, and pepper finish with chewy tannins and moderate oak. A wonderfully layered old world styled red blend with great depth and balance.

Ideal pairing to grilled steaks and would be a wonderful complement hearty meat dishes with lamb and pork.

Concentrated berry and plum aromas are potent. In the mouth, this blend of Malbec, Petit Verdot and Cab Franc is massive but also abrasive and narrowing due to fierce tannins. Giant raspberry and blackberry flavors include chocolate and coffee notes. It settles on the finish but remains scratchy out the back door. Drink through 2025.
