About the Alfred Giraud Voyage French Malt Whisky 700ml
Our first Exploratory whisky, VOYAGE has a bold flavor profile, the result of a unique blend and unconventional casks. We blended two fine single malts, one that aged in Sauternes wine casks and one that aged in French Robinia casks. The malts are then married and aged in cognac casks before bottling. The Sauternes casks give notes of custard, sweet grapes and acacia honey. Robinia, a powerful wood that requires skills to balance, is seldom used in whisky. It gives notes of white flower. This blend unlocks the flavors of France and shows the daring spirit of Alfred GIRAUD French Malt Whisky.
92 Points - Whisky Advocate 2022An exploratory blend of two single malts matured in sauternes and French robinia casks and finished in cognac casks. Delightful, fresh, and lilting with orchard fruits, floral notes, gooseberry fool, Chantilly cream, sliced grape, crisp barley, and fresh apple peel, balanced with light oak and a sprinkle of spice. Flavors of black currant, honey, russet apple, and pepper before it succumbs to the cognac's influence.
