Crafted in Azerbaijan by Absheron-Sharab, one of the country’s leading historic spirits producers established in 1967, "Baki 8 Years" is a premium aged Azerbaijani brandy (traditionally designated locally as Konyak). Named after Azerbaijan's capital city Baku (Baki), this expression honors the long-standing winemaking and distilling traditions of the Absheron Peninsula and surrounding agricultural valleys. Produced from selected indigenous and regional white grape varieties—predominantly Bayanshira and Rkatsiteli—grown in sunny, coastal vineyard terroirs, the grapes undergo careful temperature-controlled fermentation. The resulting base wine is double-distilled in traditional copper pot stills to capture clean, aromatic wine spirits. The eau-de-vie is aged for a minimum of 8 years in Caucasian oak barrels (Quercus macranthera), which imparts a warm mahogany color and a rich, velvety structure balancing dried fruit sweetness with roasted oak, cocoa, vanilla, and gentle baking spices.
