About the Aberlour A'Bunadh Alba 62% ABV
Aberlour A’bunadh Alba is the heir to A’bunadh whisky: from the Gaelic “origin”, in homage to the founder of Aberlour, James Fleming, it honours the whisky tradition of the 19th century. It is indeed a “strength cask” Single Malt, bottled without adding water. Its production method recalls the powerful taste of ancient malts.
Unlike Aberlour A’bunadh aged only in Sherry casks, A’bunadh Alba is a cask strength aged 100% in first-fill Bourbon casks, for a whisky that is both pure and invigorating.
Alba refers to Quercus Alba, the type of American white oak used when ageing this whisky. This oak is particularly suitable for making bourbon barrels thanks to its durability and its ability to absorb water and oxygen.
Coincidentally, Alba also means Scotland in Gaelic.
