About the SMWS A7.1 A Peasant's Delight 1990 Armagnac
SMWS A7.1 A Peasant's Delight is a limited single-cask Armagnac selected and bottled by The Scotch Malt Whisky Society. Distilled in 1990 in France's Ténarèze Armagnac region, this expressive vintage spirit matured in a French oak Armagnac barrel before being bottled at 48.4% ABV. Limited to just 307 bottles worldwide, it offers a richly textured and complex profile of caramelized sweetness, pastries, dried fruits, citrus, aromatic herbs and warming spice.
Food Pairing: Pair with tarte Tatin, crème brûlée, aged Comté, dried figs, almond pastries, roasted nuts or caramelized pear desserts.
Tasting Notes: Rich and complex, combining golden syrup and caramelized sugar with sweet pastries, dried fruits, citrus oils, aromatic herbs and savoury spice.
Nose: Golden syrup and caramelized brown sugar mingle with sweet pastries, mint, mandarin and subtle savoury spice.
Palate: Richly textured with treacle sponge, pear eau-de-vie, aged Muscat and quince jelly, developing citrus peel, rye bread and warming spice.
Finish: Long and expressive, with greengage, honeyed fruit, lime oils, delicate tropical notes and fragrant jasmine.
