Spier "21 Gables" Chenin Blanc is a serious, full-bodied white wine that pays tribute to the 21 historic Cape Dutch gables found on the Spier Wine Farm, which dates back to 1692. Sourced from 37-year-old dry-farmed vines in the Tygerberg Hills, the wine is known for its intense concentration and "ample oak treatment," having been fermented and matured for 14 months in various French oak barrels. The 2021 vintage offers a complex aromatic profile of ripe peach, pear, and dried apricot with distinct notes of oak spice and vanilla cream. On the palate, it is luscious and richly textured, balancing its yellow fruit core with a vibrant acidity and a long, savory finish featuring hints of toasted cashew and caramel.
