About the Goldschmidt Vineyard Yoeman Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 3L Double Magnum
Goldschmidt Vineyards Yoeman Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 is a mature and powerful single-vineyard wine from the Geyserville district of the Alexander Valley. The 2015 vintage in Sonoma was marked by a warm, early growing season and low yields, which resulted in grapes with extraordinary concentration and a robust structural backbone. Sourced from the gravelly benchland soils of the Yoeman Vineyard, this wine represents Nick Goldschmidt’s commitment to site-specific winemaking, having spent approximately 18 to 24 months in premium oak to soften its intense tannins.
On the nose, it offers a sophisticated and evolving bouquet of dried blackcurrants, black cherry, and scorched earth, seamlessly integrated with tertiary notes of leather, cigar box, and graphite. The palate is full-bodied and dense, showcasing a rich core of dark fruit, espresso, and dark chocolate, all supported by a firm, persistent structure that has mellowed beautifully with age. The finish is long and savory, leaving a lingering impression of black pepper, cedar, and sweet tobacco.
