Perched high atop the rugged slopes of the Mayacamas Mountains, Mount Veeder Winery is a pioneer of high-altitude viticulture in Napa Valley. Established in the early 1970s, the estate was the first in the region to plant all five classic Bordeaux varieties on the steep, craggy terrain of Mount Veeder, where the vines must struggle through shallow, volcanic soils and cool maritime breezes. This extreme environment produces small, intensely concentrated berries that result in deeply pigmented, structured wines known for their powerful tannins and signature notes of mountain bramble and forest floor. As a trailblazer of the Mount Veeder AVA, the winery continues to be a benchmark for mountain-grown Cabernet Sauvignon, offering a distinctively bold and earthy profile that captures the wild, untamed spirit of its high-elevation terroir.
