Yves Cuilleron VDP Marsanne is a dry white wine from the northern Rhône Valley of France:
Taste
A fresh, aromatic wine with a straw yellow color. It has a balanced palate with notes of white peach, pear, blood orange, grapefruit, honey, and spice. The finish is a thirst-quenching bitterness.
Production
The grapes are manually harvested and fermented naturally with indigenous yeasts. The wine ages for six months in wooden vats and barriques, and is lightly filtered before bottling.
Viticulture
The grapes are grown on terraces in granitic and alluvial soil using sustainable and respectful methods. The vineyard uses natural cover cropping to avoid erosion, and few treatments are used.
Food pairing
Pairs well with fish or goat cheese dishes. The citrus notes also make it a good counterpoint to south Asian cuisine.
Marsanne is a dry white wine with a fresh acid backbone. As it ages, it takes on flavors of toasted nuts and honey, and its texture becomes richer and rounder.
Alc/Vol: 12.5%
