About the Achaval-Ferrer Mendoza Malbec 2021 750ml

The textbook definition of Malbec in a very good vintage. Bright violet in color, this wine is fresh and floral, featuring blackberry, plums and violets on the nose and palate. The wine is soft and round with a noticeable minerality, silky tannins mark a lengthy finish. Low yields, careful vineyard management and low intervention winemaking are the hallmark of this wine.

Composed of various vineyards, located in the major geographic references that the Cuyana province offers, this young wine, potent and velvety wine, expresses pleasure, smooth and soft, combining land and flavors in one clear strong message. Attractive cassis and blueberry aromas here with a swathe of crushed violet flowers. The palate has a very supple and smooth core of fresh red plums that offer a fleshy and smooth ride to the finish.

50% from the Uco Valley, 40% from Luján de Cuyo and 10% from Medrano, all in Mendoza, and spent nine months in used French oak. Purple in color. The vivid nose delivers fresh plum, sour cherry, violets and a bouquet of herbs accompanied by hints of balsam. Slightly indulgent in the mouth, it’s juicy in spite of its volume and grippy tannins. A well-rounded wine with hints of lavender perfume on the long, bold finish.
