The Altagracia is sourced exclusively from clay-rich parcels on the eastern slopes of the 38-acre Eisele Vineyard in Calistoga.

Very fragrant and expressive, Altagracia unveils a floral nose with dried rose petals intertwined with wild strawberries, red currant, cranberry, and a hint of pink pepper and santal. The mouthfeel is round and silky with subtle flavors of black tea, cinnamon, orange peel and cocoa. The texture of tight-knit tannins coating the palate, leads to a long aniseed finish.

96 Points - James Suckling

A solid Altagracia with currants, blueberries and pine and bark aromas and some sweet tobacco. Aromas that follow through on the palate to a full body with a well-framed tannin profile. Crunchy at the end. Juicy too. Needs as couple of years to come together. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Best after 2027.

94 Points - Jeb Dunnuck

Coming from more hillside parcels and slightly more volcanic soils, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Altagracia checks in as a blend of 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit Verdot, and 5% Cabernet Franc. Aged in 82% new barrels, it has a deeper ruby hue to go with a beautiful perfume of darker currants, red plums, toasted spices, new leather, and dried tobacco. Medium to full-bodied, it has plenty of classic Napa Valley fruit yet also brings beautiful balance, ripe tannins, and a great finish.

94 Points - The Wine Independent

The 2021 Altagracia is a blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot. Deep garnet-purple in color, it charges out of the gate with bold notes of blackcurrant pastilles, wild blueberries, and redcurrant jelly followed by hints of cinnamon stick, clove oil, dusty soil, and mossy tree bark. The full-bodied palate is packed with vibrant black berry and baking spice layers with an approachable frame of velvety tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing with a perfumed lift. Drinking 2025-2045.
